Schedule
The MIA approval was issued by SEMARNAT in November 2023. Construction is expected to start in 2025 once permit conditions are met. Operations are expected to commence as early as Q4 2027 or Q1 2028.
The project will:
Protect biodiversity
Including the Ramsar Site, mangroves, birds, flora and fauna
Avoid the Bay of Ohuira
Entirely by using recycled wastewater for the methanol production process, without taking from or discharging water to the Bay, avoiding resource competition between the project and the community.
Use an exiting jetty
Avoiding new environmental impacts to the Bay
Create an environmental conservation area near the Bay
Create temporary and permanent jobs
For local communities and local supplier business opportunities
Implement the highest Safety standards
During the construction and operation of the facility
Continue to engage and listen
To local communities and other stakeholders, as we have for over 4 years.
