Pacifico Mexinol ("Mexinol") is a world scale methanol project that will operate near Topolobampo, Sinaloa, Mexico. Mexinol will produce 6,130 metric tons of methanol per day.

Mexinol is expected to be the largest single methanol facility in the world– producing approximately 1.8 million MT of blue methanol annually from natural gas with carbon capture along with 175,000 MT of Recycled Carbon Fuel and 175,000 MT of renewable fuels of non-biological origin. The facility is expected to be the most efficient at converting carbon from natural gas to methanol in the world. Mexinol will obtain all of its natural gas supply from the Permian Basin in West Texas, where natural gas is plentiful.

Abiding by our core values means we listen to communities. As a result, Mexinol will have no wastewater discharge into the Bay of Ohuira. Mexinol's purpose-driven water strategy is designed to completely avoid impacting the Bay of Ohuira. Instead of using seawater and other natural sources of water, Mexinol's water solution will use municipal wastewater which will be treated and recycled back to the municipal wastewater facility. The Project has ultra-low carbon emissions and reduces all greenhouse gas emissions.

STRATEGIC LOCATION

Repurposing former agricultural land for a sustainable future

The site is located on land currently used for agricultural between Los Mochis and Topolobampo in Ahome, Sinaloa, Mexico. The pipeline to the port will be buried next to an existing gas pipeline to the Port of Topolobampo. An existing pier will be used to load vessels transporting methanol to the world.
