The Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) 2025 determined that the Pacifico Mexinol Project could cause inflationary pressure on local communities due to project procurement needs and increased workforce employment (especially during peak periods of construction and if such peak periods coincide with other construction projects in the area). Pacifico Mexinol agreed to implement an annual cost of living study and share the findings with other projects in the area in order to mitigate the potential impact.
In mid-2025, with the help of local community members, Pacifico Mexinol completed the first cost of living study (the baseline). We are proud to transparently share the baseline results and welcome questions about the data collection effort and the findings.
