Mexinol Economic Impact Assessment
Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa, 2026
The Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS), through its Directorate General for Research and Postgraduate Studies, presented in April 2026 the results of the study Mexinol Economic Impact Assessment, developed under the collaboration agreement signed with Pacífico Mexinol.
This study, conducted with academic and methodological rigor, quantifies the direct and indirect effects that the construction and operation of our methanol plant will have on the economy of Sinaloa and the country as a whole. To this end, UAS researchers applied three complementary methodologies validated by international scientific literature: the Bi-Regional Input-Output Matrix, a Panel Data Econometric Model, and a Machine Learning Model with a hybrid VARX architecture.
This study stands as a testament to Pacífico Mexinol’s commitment to transparency, local development, and the creation of real value for the communities of Ahome and northern Sinaloa.
